Caesars Entertainment continues to build upon its C-level executivelineup insofar as the company’s iGaming products go. The latest move sees Matt Sunderland join the company as its new Senior VP of iGaming. Sunderland will be stepping in on October 1, and he brings 20 years of relevant experience with him.
Commenting on his appointment, he said that he was pleased to be joining Caesars’ team and add to the fast-expanding iGaming sector in which the company has shown clear interest. He said that the industry is bound to continue growing as everyone begins to realize the potential of the iGaming business.
As a result, Sunderland will make sure that he delivers top-notch service to customers. He is also well-prepared to do so. He previously worked as VP of Gaming for BetMGM and has been instrumental in helping the company push ahead with successful iGaming product rollouts. As the United States is still finding its place in online gaming, more states are acknowledging the potential of the activity and planning legalization over the coming years.
Besides working at BetMGM, he has also worked at GVC Holdings (or Entain as it’s known today) and MGM Resorts. He has also held other positions at IGT and has non-industry-related experience with CNN International. Caesars Digital President Eric Hession welcomed the new appointment and said that Sunderland would make an important addition to the team.
His relevant experience in the industry is definitely a big plus in the industry. Caesars Entertainment, which owns expansive resorts and entertainment facilities, is only now getting more serious about breaking ground into the digital gaming space. Sports betting has been a gateway to exploring iGaming, but most companies are still tentative about this. Hession said that Sunderland brings a successful track record and experience to the fore making his presence an important element of the company’s future success.
Caesars Sportsbook & Casino was first introduced a little over a year ago in April 2021 and the company continues to explore iGaming. "We're looking forward to what we can accomplish together with Caesars Sportsbook & Casino," Hession added, outlining a strong future for the company. In the meantime, Caesars has been able to cover iGaming extensively, offering slots, table games, and live dealer table game experiences.
Besides, the company has bridged the physical and interactive aspects of its loyalty program, Caesars Rewards.
