Maris Catania joins SG:certified as Safer Gambling Senior Consultant

The leading platform that supports operators within the gambling industry with sustainability, compliance and safer gambling practices, SG:certified, announced a senior-level appointment. The company unveiled Monday it hired the services of responsible gaming veteran Maris Catania.

Joining SG:certified, Catania was named as Safer Gambling Senior Consultant. According to the company, the appointment is effective immediately. In her new position, she will play a pivotal role in the development of content related to safer gambling.

Catania will oversee assessments, trainings, as well as research, helping SG:certified to elevate and update its content on safer gambling. Moreover, as a Safer Gambling Senior Consultant, she will provide strategic guidance for the company's partners.

In a statement, Catania shared her excitement saying: "I'm really excited to join such an experienced yet still passionate team." She added: "SG:certified's company ethos is to do well and make a great social impact, which is something I always try to live by in my personal life."

According to Catania, joining the company was "a natural fit" for her. Finally, she said that she is looking forward to helping companies within the sector benefit from SG:certified's platform and develop safer gambling strategies and processes.

As a responsible gaming industry veteran, Catania brings decades of experience to her new role with the company. She has nearly 15 years of experience within the safer gambling and integrity vertical. Before joining SG:certified, she was most recently a part of Kindred. During her tenure with the globally recognized company, she was most recently Head of Responsible Gaming and Research.

The latest appointment further strengthens SG:certified's C-suite. In fact, only recently, the company hired the services of Svend Aage Kirk, an entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Mindway AI. Kirk teamed up with SG:certified and became a Partner of the company.

Focusing on the most recent appointment, SG:certified's CEO, Laura Da Silva, was also excited about the news, saying: "I have admired Maris and how passionate she is about safer gambling for many years, so I am delighted that she is joining us as a Safer Gambling Senior Consultant."
