Registration for one of the defining events in the global gaming industry has gone live, with the 2027 edition of ICE Barcelona ‘27 approaching.
The official event is due to take place on January 18-20 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, where ICE will bring together the global digital, lottery, sports betting, casino, esports, and payments sectors, along with the land-based sector, offering the opportunity for networking, showcasing IP and technology, and breakthrough sessions focusing on the industry’s current challenges.
As the hosts put it, this is where "the World of Gaming goes to do business." Commenting on the upcoming event in January, WorldGaming Managing Director Stuart Hunter had this to add:
"ICE Barcelona is the only event where the entire gaming value chain meets and where the industry maps out its direction of travel.
Every ground-breaking, industry-defining product, every innovation, every piece of gaming tech and every solution is showcased at ICE, enabling attendees to solve real problems and stay ahead of the competition in what is a fiercely competitive industry.
Every sector of the global industry attends ICE Barcelona with clear objectives to identify business-building opportunities and cultivate connections across what is the most powerful network in global gaming."
Ahead of the actual event, the event is engaged in the Welcome to the PlayVolution creative, which will focus on the international marketing campaign that supports ICE Barcelona ‘27. Hunter did not miss the opportunity to complement ICE Barcelona’s pivotal role as an intersection of gaming and technology.
The upcoming gathering will include 17,000 square meters of space in Hall 7, which will serve as the industry-wide home for gaming’s technology, data, and fintech communities.
"Our aim is for Hall 7 to be recognised as the ‘go-to’ meeting place where attendees can learn from their peers, explore the latest technologies, and most importantly, see the innovations in action. We are moving beyond traditional panel discussions, adding more live demonstrations, real-world case studies, interactive sessions, and practical discussions, delivering solutions that attendees can take back to their businesses," Hunter explained.
Hunter is confident that the event may improve on last year’s numbers, with the 2026 edition of World Gaming Week driving together a record 62,988 industry professionals from across 162 nations, and a 5% gain on the numbers in 2025 - when 59,939 representatives attended.
ICE alone drew 51,996 visitors in 2026, along with 10,992 who also headed over to iGB Affiliate. Among the countries with the most professionals in attendance were Spain, with 10,209 nationals in attendance, followed by the United Kingdom (5,999), Malta (3,187), Cyprus (2,628), Ukraine (2,512), Poland (2,247), the United States (1,568), Italy (1,353), Germany (1,165), and Bulgaria (1,076).
