ESPN BET has launched its official sportsbook in Washington D.C. through a tie-up with PENN Entertainment. The partnership means that ESPN BET is now available in 20 jurisdictions across the country, and it is determined to enter every licensed and regulated market where its operations would be sustainable.
This partnership is made possible thanks to a market access deal that PENN secured with Monumental Sports & Entertainment. ESPN BET will also be an official partner to the Washington Capitals, Wizards and Mystics.
Commenting on this opportunity, PENN Entertainment Chief Technology Officer Aaron LaBerge had this to say:
"We’re thrilled to launch ESPN BET in our nation’s capital and expand our presence across the Washington metropolitan area. Along with our partner ESPN, we’re excited to introduce our deeply integrated media and betting experience and further engage with the D.C. area’s passionate sports community."
Thanks to this new entry, sports fans in the District of Columbia will now have the opportunity to bet on their favorite competitions and enjoy an ample selection of daily odds boosts, profit boosts, featured parlays, in-play options, exclusive promos and offers, and so much more.
ESPN will of course provide its signature content and insight from its top personalities to further strengthen the experience and allow residents of the area to enjoy the best possible sports wagering experience.
ESPN BET has also tied its sportsbook experience with its media services, offering players a fantastic way to always be in the know when it comes to anything sports-related. Account linking between the ESPN Bet and ESPN accounts is an option and readily available.
ESPN BET has been committed to growing its local footprint at a good clip. The company has also ventured into some of the toughest markets in the country, including the United States. ESPN BET is hoping to continually expand its footprint in the regulated sports betting market.
However, presently the company only accounts for 3% of the market, which is more or less what Barstool Sportsbook holds. ESPN BET is the new brand that is running with PENN Entertainment after the company sold the Barstool IP back to its owner David Portnoy.
