The internationally recognized independent testing laboratory, eCOGRA, announced it continues to expand its presence in Latin America, after securing a new authorization. The company confirmed Monday that it is now permitted to operate as a certifying entity for online games, live casino gaming studios and betting systems in Brazil.
The latest announcement follows an authorization secured by eCOGRA from the Secretaria De Prêmios e Apostas (SPA) in the country. Ultimately, the certification represents an important milestone for the independent testing laboratory as it recognizes the quality of its certification services and allows it to reach more customers than before in this strategic region.
Founded in 2003, eCOGRA has been operating for more than two decades. The company anticipates retaining its leadership position in online gambling certification by providing quality services to new customers across the globe. eCOGRA helps with the assessment of fairness, analysis of compliance and testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services for gambling operators within regulated markets around the world.
Bradley Khoury, eCOGRA's Chief Technical Officer, shared his excitement about the milestone achievement by the company in Brazil. In a statement, he said that the company is thrilled to continue its expansion across the globe with entry into Brazil's vibrant market.
Moreover, Khoury added: "This approval from the Secretaria De Prêmios e Apostas (SPA) of the Brazilian Ministry of Finance is not only a testament to our unwavering commitment to the highest standards of competence and quality but also marks an exciting new chapter for eCOGRA." The chief technical officer said that eCOGRA will be excited to collaborate with operators in Brazil, ensuring that they offer fair and safe gaming services to players in the region.
Brazil's gambling regulations seek to ensure entertainment and player protection for sports bettors and gamblers alike. Undoubtedly, the quality services offered by eCOGRA will be able to positively impact the market in the country. Finally, Khoury explained: "Our goal is to ensure that Brazilian players have access to certified iGaming experiences, akin to what has successfully been implemented in other highly regulated jurisdictions."
Exactly two months ago, eCOGRA announced it secured another important certification. At the time, the company said it was permitted to operate as a certification laboratory for the regulated gambling sector in Peru. Continuing its expansion in the Latin American region, eCOGRA now has a presence in a number of important markets and overall operates in nearly 40 online gambling jurisdictions across the globe.
