  • Gaming returns with its second edition of the annual Charity Gala in Malta
  • The event will focus on raising funds for DAR Bjorn’s new Respite Center, a critical expansion of the facility
  • The previous event saw as much as €200,000 raised, with the goal to possibly top this figure in the second edition

BGaming will host its annual Charity Gala event on May 29, 2026, at ThePhoenicia Hotel in Malta, seeing the flagship event return for another year, backed by the innovative, socially-minded supplier.

BGaming remains committed to supporting the DAR Bjorn treatment facility

The Charity Gala represents the second edition of the event, and it will be hosted as part of the supplier’s ongoing commitment to supporting DAR Bjorn, Malta’s neurological home, a primary facility that provides care and vital therapies for people living with ALS, MS, and other neurological conditions.

The first edition of the event was able to raise €200,000, funding the DAR Bjorn’s Respite Center construction, with the 2026 edition now aiming to improve on that funding goal and have an even more serious impact on the overall initiative.

All funds that are raised through the Charity Gala will be directly allocated to fund four resident rooms and support new admissions in the new Respite Center. Besides this, the funding will also help with specific medical and care items, ventilators, motorized beds, air mattresses, hoist lifters, oxygen concentrators, and others.

The DAR Bjorn currently has 60 residents across two centers, and supports nearly 800 more people in the community. With demand for its services increasing, the new Respite Center is an important and timely expansion to ensure that the facility continues to be a primary source of critical care for people affected by serious neurological conditions.

Commenting on the opportunity, Gaming Chief Executive Officer Marina Ostrovtsova commented on the opportunity:

"Last year’s Gala showed us what is possible when our industry comes together around a shared purpose. Raising €200,000 in a single evening was a remarkable achievement and provided real, tangible support to the people at DAR Bjorn who need it most.

Returning for a second year with an even greater ambition is something we are incredibly proud of. The funds we raise this year will go toward equipment that directly improves residents' quality of life. These donations are the difference between comfort and hardship for people living with serious neurological conditions, and we hope both the iGaming community and the wider Maltese community will once again stand with us."

The event is hosted at the Bastion Pool area of the Phoenicia Hotel in Malta, where iGaming leaders and local business figures will come together in this invitation-only night of entertainment. The event is held in collaboration with Next.io as its official media partner and hosted by Joseph Chetcuti.
