Spribe, the developer of one of the world’s most successful casino crash games, Aviator, has had its license suspended in the United Kingdom, the country’s gambling regulator announced in an official statement published on Thursday, October 30.

UKGC outlines the case against Spribe

The enforcement action has been laid out in detail by the regulator on its page:

"The Gambling Commission has suspended the operating license of Spribe OÜ (operating license no 057302-R-333085-003) as it carries out a review under section 118(2) of the Gambling Act 2005 (the Act).

The suspension of the software license was necessary on grounds of suitability, due to serious non-compliance with the hosting requirements of our licensing framework."

As a result, the regulator said that "all hosting activity must stop immediately unless and until a suitable hosting license is obtained" by the company.

The regulator reminded that under Section 33 of the Gambling Act 2005, it was a criminal offense to provide gambling products in Great Britain without the prerequisite license.

The regulator also stated that it expects full compliance in this matter, including Spribe’s immediate notification to partners who may be affected by the watchdog’s decision, the statement further read.

An ambitious company with a strong global reach

Spribe is a popular developer and a breakaway firm in iGaming space. It has a modest beginning, with its founder and CEO, David Natroshvili, recently speaking to Casino Guru News and sharing that the company aims to secure 100 million active players.

The company’s flagship and only product – the crash game Aviator – has been picked up by some of the biggest companies locally and worldwide. Spribe has teamed up with Paddy Power and BetMGM, providing the operators with the blockbuster title, and has experienced unchecked growth all over the world.

Apart from being licensed in the United Kingdom, Spribe also holds licenses in multiple other jurisdictions, including Malta, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Ontario, Canada, among others, all of which are heavily regulated and respected gaming destinations.
