Theme and Storyline

This slot is themed on Nordic mythology.

Players will find themselves suspended in a stormy sky facing iron reels. They’ll gather mystical symbols wrought in glinting metal for a chance at entry into Valhalla.

The atmosphere is ominous and epic. Players will feel they’ve entered a Scandanavian adventure as lightning bolts strike and they hope the gods are on their side.

Graphics, Sounds and Animations

The soundtrack will bring to mind shows such as Game of Thrones and Vikings. The moody violin sequences set a dark tone and don’t distract from the gameplay.

The Norse symbols are thoughtfully designed. Trees and animals are animated with striking, rune-like lines. Upon wins the symbols glow blue as if struck by lightning.

The animation colour palette is restrained with mostly blues and greys. This makes the hints of colour in the symbols and the bright blue lightning stand out.

Softly glowing flames stand either side of the reels and provide a ceremonial atmosphere. This makes the game feel more like an enchanted trial.

Though Thor is depicted among the symbols, he is otherwise quite absent from the game. Given that he is the slot’s namesake this is a missed opportunity. Thor is a compelling figure who could have been used more prominently to add tension and cachet.

The backdrop of snowy mountains and cloudy sky creates a sense of tension. Players will feel they are high above the landscape as they face their mythical challenge.
