Try Power Stars slot online for free in demo mode with no download and no registration required and read the game's review before playing for real money.
Power Stars uses the imagery and style of the fruit machine or one-armed bandit. The symbols are plums and bells, lucky sevens and sliced watermelons.
These symbols are, more or less, as old as the trees when it comes to slot machines, and so the theme is a tried and true one, and in this case, is executed moderately well by the team at Novomatic.
The graphics are decent and have the definite advantage of being eminently clear and easily read. The symbols have clear silhouettes and the backgrounds are plain red with some gradients and stars thrown in to keep things interesting.
The animations are very simple, but do the job they are designed for – highlighting wins and giving the spins a pleasing weight.
The sounds are a bit basic and the slot does not come with a backing music track. This may be a definite advantage given the average quality of slot based music tracks.
Power Stars is a five reel slot with three reels and ten win lines. The win lines run in both directions, allowing the player to win with combos starting in either reel one or five.
On top of this is an expanding Wild that triggers respins, but, in keeping with the one-armed bandit style of slot, there is no bonus feature.
As a result, the gameplay is solid, but may leave variety seekers a little cold.
The Wild symbol substitutes for all other symbols and expands to fill whatever reel it lands on. It then triggers a respin of all other reels.
The Wild symbol appears only on reels 2, 3, and 4.
Power Stars does not have any Bonuses or Free Spins.
The return to player of this game is 95.54%, well below our yardstick for average of roughly 96%.
The range of bets on the site we tested ran from a minimum bet per spin of $/£/€0.05 if the player chooses one win line, up to a maximum of $/£/€500.00 per spin if the player is betting on all ten win lines.
The volatility of this game is medium, which makes it a weak match for our preferred slot machine strategies. Our strategies tend to focus on higher volatility slots.
Power Stars is a decent example of an old style slot machine which has been taught a few modern tricks.
The gameplay is pretty simple without bonuses or free spins, but the expanding Wild and respins make for an interesting alternative to a more traditional bonus game.
The RTP is the major detraction for this slot; 95.54% is well below average and the medium volatility does nothing to mitigate that disappointment.
